Award Winning Designs in Flat Markers

 

"Brinkley" won 1st Place at the 2007 AICA design competition in the Flat Marker category.

 

"Novitsky" won 1st Place in the Flat Marker Design Competition at the 2007 MBNA Annual Convention & Monument Industry Show held in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

"Barron" won 1st Place at the 2006 AICA Flat Marker design competition.

 

"Payne" won 2nd Place in the Flat Marker Design Competition at the 2006 AICA Annual Meeting held in Washington DC.

 

"Parks" won 3rd Place in the Flat Marker Design Competition at the 2006 AICA Annual Meeting held in Washington DC.

 

"Jorgenson" won 1st Place for "Markers - Expert Division" in the 2000 MBNA Design Contest.

 

"Maxwell" won 2nd Place for "Etched Monuments - Expert Division" in the 2000 MBNA Design Contest.

 

"Ryan" won 1st Place for "Small Monuments - Expert Division" in the 2000 MBNA Design Contest.

 

Quiring Monuments "Hagy" won 1st Place for "Markers - Expert Division" in the 1998 MBNA Design Contest.

 

Quiring Monuments "O'Neil" won 1st Place for "Small Monuments - Novice Division" in the 1998 MBNA Design Contest.

 

This Flat marker for Julia K. Booms won 1st Place for "Markers - Expert Division" in the 1996 MBNA Design Contest.

The bereaved parents wanted their daughter's memorial to be "unfinished". Four "stones" were sculpted on the marker: three on the left side to symbolize the surviving family members and one on the right side to symbolize the deceased. The shooting star represents the brilliant, but brief life of their beloved Julia.
