Monument's "Millennium
Angel" won the Grand Prize Award in the 2000 MBNA
Design Contest. |
The
angel represents the timelessness of emotion. As she kneels on two
blocks, each one representing 1000 years of man's modern evolution,
she resigns herself to overwhelming emotion by throwing back her head.
Flanked by an array of lillies (for an angel's purity and chastity)
and with her feet appearing out of the back of the lower block, she
symbolizes the unchanging effect of a loss on humankind through two
millenniums.

Monuments "Recording
Angel" won the Grand Prize Award, The People's
Choice Award, and First Place for Display/Special
Monuments - Expert Division in the 1998 MBNA Design Contest. |

The Angel records names on her scroll of life. While writing, she looks away - reflecting on her duty - which is to keep track of who is on Earth. Her wings meet in the center of the end of the tablet to form a cross. |
