Headstones Tour 2009 - Part 4 Vietnamese Headstone Memorials (Great photos)
Located outside of town on our Asian headstone tour in Vietnam is a headstone memorial and headstone monument shop. We were given a great tour of a Vietnamese cemetery featuring wonderful photos of headstone memorials we can share.

Typical grave arrangement Small spaces for infants, cremation or just bones?

Evicted for non-payment Every headstone monument is unique

Elaborate monuments This monument hosts a spirited card game
When we first approached the headstone cemetery we spotted a small monument shop just across the street and after we walked the cemetery we went back to see if we could take a closer look at our Vietnamese headstones competition. As it turned out the owner was happy to see us (even though he was in the middle of his lunch) and explained his process for engraving the granite and marble inlayed name plaques. At night he does all the stencil cutting and sandblasting at home and days he staffs his office stall. He uses a computer to cut stencils just like we do and it was refreshing to see the pride he took in his work.
